Stefanie Newell, Nonfiction Writing Coach & Developmental Editor
Helping First-Time Nonfiction Authors Write Books That Sell
For 17 years, I’ve helped first-time nonfiction authors turn book ideas into finished, published, well-selling books without the costly mistakes most new authors make along the way. My coaching and developmental editing work has reached memoirists, self-help authors, and professionals (therapists, coaches, consultants) ready to put their expertise into a book that actually connects with readers.
I’m also a published author, novelist, and screenwriter. You can read more about that creative side of my work further down this page, but nonfiction coaching and developmental editing are where I spend most of my time and where I can help you most.

Breakout author Stefanie Newell serves up The Buzz on a hot platter for all who love gossip, Internet forums, and spicy storylines. Newell’s novel is an interesting, thrilling, humorous experience that will have readers loving the story and hating the hell out of the main protagonist. The perfect anti-hero, Ebony’s a refreshing break from the normal sweet character. Her persona reeks of the all too familiar stank, hate-filled online personalities seen on many well-known gossip sites. This book is a definite must-read for anyone who loves or hates the gossip circuit.
Stefanie Newell fully understands America’s growing obsession with celebrity chat. As the author of the novel, The Buzz: When Celebrity Gossip Goes Wrong, Newell delves into our fascination with the stars. The book revolves around the fictional story of Ebony, a successful black woman whose pursuit of the high life wreaks havoc.
“The Buzz” is a very enjoyable book. The plot grabs you, and then the interaction between the characters draws you in. The author gives us the background of each character in detail. This helps you understand each character’s personality and why they behave the way they do. This is what makes the book outstanding. “The Buzz” is a must-read. Solid debut.
Also a Novelist & Screenwriter
Beyond coaching, I’m also a novelist and screenwriter.
With guidance from esteemed mentor Suzanne de Passe, a respected figure in the music and film industry, I have honed my screenwriting skills.
My journey into storytelling began while freelance writing for the entertainment magazine Unrated Magazine, where I had the opportunity to interview celebrities such as Drew Sidora (Real Housewives of Atlanta), K-Ci and Jo-Jo (Jodeci), and actor Brian White.
This experience ignited my passion for crafting narratives, leading to the publication of my novel The Buzz which brings to life the assertive Internet influencer Ebony Jenkins. I have since adapted this novel into a screenplay, showcasing my dedication to storytelling and my ability to captivate audiences.
