I have always been intrigued with the arts.

Whether it were music, writing or another creative outlet, that’s where I gravitated. I knew it was where I would excel, especially if I invested time in it.

Are you investing in your career as a writer?

Some aspiring writers dismiss writing as a full-time career aspiration, because like most professions within the arts, the time invested doesn’t always garner an equal amount of success. Because of that, aspiring writers are more likely to go for safe jobs with bi-weekly paychecks.

This blog post is to stir things up. To encourage you to pursue your passion of writing because the world needs to hear your voice in the way that only you can deliver it. If writing is what you are called to do, why not invest in your career by taking writing classes, starting a blog, or beginning your manuscript?

I’m speaking to those of you who are scared to step out on faith and to start what you’ve been putting off for a while now.

While I’m not suggesting you quit your day job, I am suggesting that you make time for your passion. If writing is what you’ve been putting on the back burner, then make this the year that you start working towards your goals. Every day is a new opportunity to get started.
