It’s important to understand that your author website is in fact marketing your book and it should be treated as such. It’s a way to keep interested readers up-to-date on what’s happening with both you and your book. So when considering what to include on your website, keep this in mind.
Your websites purpose for those who have yet to purchase your book is to provide additional information to prompt the buyer through positive feedback (such as reviews) to purchase your book. For readers, who’ve already purchased your book, your aim is to keep them interested in you as an author and to tide them over until your next book release.

As for what to include on your author website, use your imagination! To get you started, here are a few ideas of what you can include:
– Biography
– Pictures
– Book information
– Reviews
– Social media sites
– Press releases
– Interviews
– Upcoming events

Social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter are both great ways to draw traffic back to your author website. Don’t forget about commenting on other blogs or websites and when sending emails you should always include your author website in your email signature!
Lastly, with social media now being so prevalent, we sometimes forget about traditional book marketing tips such as:
– Business cards
– Flyers
– and including your website on the book itself!
